This project involved the complete renovation of a substantial 2 storey Victorian Mansion, and the addition of an Architect designed ultra modern extension at the rear. Many of the original features of this period home had been altered over the years.
The retained section of the period home has had all services replaced, as well as most wall and ceiling linings. The building extension is steel framed and a large 30m crane was used to set up the portal frame which houses the two storey extension to the original house The 3700mm high rear windows and sliding doors are double glazed. They were also craned into position.
Hydronic heating and fully ducted airconditioning have been incorporated into the building.
To provide for the irrigation of the proposed extensive landscaping, an Atlantis underground water tank of 20,000L capacity has been situated under the back garden.
The principal design is the responsibility of a London based Architect, working through an associated firm of Architects in Melbourne. An Interior Design firm and Landscape Architects are also involved in this very high quality building project in an inner Melbourne suburb.
PRM Constructions was involved from the working drawings through to final documentation, providing costing advice and construction input. This resulted in the acceptance of our negotiated tender price, saving considerable time on this fast tracked project as we were able to commence work on this quality renovation project immediately that the documentation was completed.
PRM will continue to care for this property under an ongoing maintenance arrangement at the request of the owners.
