Currently Underway
This new home in Kew, Designed by Kneeler Design Architects was commenced in April this year and is due for completion before Christmas. The steel and timber framework will be clad with a number of materials including Nuplex lightweight wall system , VN Zinc and Luxalon louvres. The wide overhanging eaves have proved to be a bit of an engineering problem but will contribute greatly to the function and appearance of the finished house.
Windows and doors are by European Windows, selected because of their all round superior system incorporating full weather seals. West facing glazing is Pilkington Comfort Plus which will take the strain and cost off the heating and cooling equipment to be installed.
The cellar walls have been fully waterproofed with Butynol rubber membrane, and particular attention has been paid to correct drainage and backfilling to the cellar walls.
The following link to the Architects website displays a model of the house, consistent with one of the design intents during the design period. The finished house will follow the basic form but with several changes since the date of that model
PRM Constructions was awarded this project following tender earlier this year and we are now working closely with the owners to ensure that the finished result exceeds their expectations.
