Fire Service Upgrade

This 10 storey / 52 apartment residential block was built in the 1960s when fire protection requirements were almost non-existent.

PRM Construction was responsible for a $1.6 million upgrade which included :

Replacement of all apartment entry doors and facades with fire rated units.

Fire doors to all services areas.

Smoke detection and alarm system throughout.

New fire pump

New standby generator

Emergency pressurisation of apartments and stairwells

In addition, a general Architect designed refurbishment of the entry and floor lobbies was undertaken.

All of this was done whilst the occupiers remained in residence.

Art Deco Dining Hall
GMH Fishermans Bend

PRM Constructions undertook a substantial renovation and refurbishment of the GMH Dining Hall and Social Centre. This Art Deco building was where the first "Holden car" was launched from in 1948.

The work included a new deli bar, full airconditioning, replacement of doors and re glazing of windows, asbestos removal, tiling & floor finishing, plastering and a full repaint.

This work was carried out in a manner which enabled the dining hall to continue to be used for breakfast and lunch during the construction period.

An Amazing Transformation
The before and after photos above show what can be done to a tired and plain building when imaginative Architect design and quality construction takes place.
